Mean Green Juice Recipes

No doubt that the healthiest juices are the ones that contain greens.  Green leafy vegetables contain the most vitamins and nutrients, and you’ll feel almost instantly better after drinking a green juice. Many of my readers have been asking me for green juice recipes and in particular the “Mean Green” juice recipe made by Joe Cross in the movie Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead.
Typically the guidelines for making green juice is 60% dark green leafy vegetables and 40% other vegetables/fruits.  You can try variations of any of the green recipes until you find one that suits your needs and tastes.  For a juice cleanse you’ll drink approximately (4) 16-20 ounce drinks per day.  If  you are making a whole day’s worth of juice at one time, keep the extra juice in a tightly sealed container in the fridge.

Breakfast drink at it's best!

Thought I would share my delicious carrot juice breakfast... I like to put a little pineapple juice in it to satisfy my sweet tooth!  A trick I learned from my mom at a young age is to cut a pineapple three times.  Get the worst of the skin off of it and throw it away.  Second layer get the stuff of you don't want to eat (in picture) but it has a lot of juice in it.  Then when you cut off the core it has a lot of juice in it as well!  Don't forget to wash your carrots very well. Juice then put it in a pretty glass and drink away:)
Eight reasons this lil glass of
juice is marvelous::::
1. Helps in improving and maintaining the bone structure of the teeth
2. Helps nursing mothers enhance milk quality
3. Natural solvent of ulcerous and cancerous conditions

Rev. George Malkmus, founder of Hallelujah Acres, cured himself of colon cancer years ago. He ate a 100% raw vegan diet and drank lots of carrot juice during that time in his life.
4. Helps prevent infections of the eyes and throat, as well as tonsils and sinuses and the respiratory organs
5. Nourishes the entire system
6. Helps normalize weight as well as chemical balance in the body
7. Nourishes the optic system
8. Helps with dry skin, dermatitis, and other skin blemishes

2 Alkaline Juicing Recipes

Juicing is a fantastic way of getting much more nutrients from fruits and vegetables into our diet in a tasty and refreshing way. Juicing offers many benefits including the fact that it requires hardly any digestion, so the nutrients get absorbed faster in your system. It is also a great way to detox. That's why we are including not one, but two Alkaline Drinks recipes below. Hope you enjoy them!

Green drink

Ingredients:

3 large kale leaves2 sticks of celery
1 cucumber
1 banana
¼ Cantaloupe
1 tbsp flax seed
1 Lemon
Distilled water

Instructions:

Blend flax seed alone until powdery. Add 1 cup of distilled water, celery, and kale chopped in small pieces. Blend. Add cucumber, banana, and cantaloupe and more water if you like your drink thinner; blend until smooth. Squeeze the lemon juice and enjoy.

Red Drink

Ingredients:

1 Beet
1 Red Apple
1 Carrot
1 Cup of water
Lemon to taste

Instructions:

Thoroughly wash the produce. Cut in large pieces the beet, apple, and carrot (with skin), and blend in water. Add freshly squeezed lemon for a more refreshing taste.
Remember that beet is a natural detoxifier, liver cleanser, and blood purifier. Beet has been found to protect against coronary artery disease and stroke, lower cholesterol levels, and has anti-aging effects.
Both these drinks work as alkalizers in our body, and provide us with dense quantities of phytonutrients and antioxidants that empower our bodies to fight disease and live longer, healthier lives.
