- 2 tbsp. olive oil
- 1/2 c. onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp. chili powder
- 1 1/4 lb. lean ground turkey
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. water
- 1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce

- 1 tbsp. tomato paste
- 1 tbsp. quick-cooking oats
- 3 scallions, chopped
- 6 whole grain buns
Directions
- Heat the oil in a skillet and cook the onions until soft.
- Add the turkey, garlic, salt and chili powder and cook until no longer pink.
- Add water, Worcestershire sauce, barbecue sauce and tomato paste and bring mixture to a boil. Lower heat and simmer covered for 15 minutes. Stir occasionally.
- Stir in oats and scallions. Uncovered cook on low until mixture starts to thicken. If its too saucy cook longer, if its not saucy enough add a few tablespoons of water.
- Serve on delicious whole grain buns!
